Therese is the founder and co-director of Cornerstone Conveyancing. Her legal industry experience spans more than 30 years, gained through a breadth of roles at major and boutique law firms across the Mid North Coast and in Sydney.
As well as having extensive experience in all aspects of commercial and domestic conveyancing, Therese was at the forefront of reshaping the industry in recent years via the national digital property transaction PEXA platform.
In her work for PEXA, she facilitated, mentored and coached countless legal practitioners, conveyancers, financial institutions and stakeholders across the North Coast and North Western regions of NSW as they transitioned from 160-year-old pen-and-paper processes to this ground-breaking e-conveyancing technology.
Therese’s deep, ahead-of-the-curve knowledge of modern conveyancing practice means she is seen by peers as a trusted source of market insights and has collaborative rapport with a vast network of industry specialists and stakeholders.
Therese also served as a councillor and director at the NSW division of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers, where she was able to represent her regional peers, and raise national awareness of their roles within their communities. She also initiated a Best Practice Group which covers the Coffs Coast and Clarence Valley – a professional network which continues to enhance learning and raise the bar for the regional conveyancing industry.
Therese also has valuable experience in the sensitive area of property settlement in Family Law matters, including transfers of property under Family Law or Domestic Relationships court orders.
She founded Cornerstone Conveyancing Services in 2014 when she saw a niche market for a boutique conveyancing practice in Coffs Harbour. The business, which she co-directs with Lyn Rovere, quickly outgrew its initial small home office and expanded to its current First Avenue Sawtell premises, from where it serves clients all over the world.
Most recently, the pair have expanded further south, opening a new Nambucca Heads office, making it easier for clients living between Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie to access their expertise.
Therese holds an Associate Degree in Law (SCU), is a member of The Australian Institute of Conveyancers, is a Certified Practising Conveyancer, a Certified PEXA member and a Justice of the Peace.

Lyn is a licensed and certified Practising Conveyancer and is co-director at Cornerstone. She has more than 30 years’ legal experience with a primary focus on all aspects of domestic and commercial conveyancing law, during which time she worked with some of the region’s top lawyers for clients statewide.
Her conveyancing work includes a vast breadth of sales and leasing matters for some of the area’s most major commercial retail, hospitality and residential development properties. Her work also included off-the-plan and super fund purchases as well as mining leases, liquor and gaming licences, Land Title, strata and rural matters. She has also managed extensive file portfolios for large local developer investment groups.
Lyn’s deep knowledge and conscientious approach not only achieves the best possible outcomes for clients and stakeholders, but over her career has made her – and continues to make her – a valuable source of guidance and mentorship for her industry peers and colleagues.
She has been co-directing Cornerstone Conveyancing with Therese since 2016, during which time the business has expanded exponentially and continues to set high standards within the industry in the region. They were the first team in Coffs Harbour to adopt innovative E-conveyancing technology which smooths out the conveyancing process and enables electronic settlements through the Property Exchange Australia (PEXA) platform.
A born and bred Coffs Harbour local, Lyn is known and respected for her calming nature and ability to communicate at all levels with peers, clients and stakeholders – and in particular her ability to demystify the more complex and intimidating aspects of the conveyancing process to customers.
Lyn holds a Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice (Macquarie University) and is also a Justice of the Peace.
Rachel is the latest addition to the Cornerstone Conveyancing team. She brings with her half a decade’s paralegal experience, as well as a vast skillset and knowledge base acquired from her extensive background as a law librarian and information specialist.
Rachel’s career, which took her to Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and the NSW Central Coast before she settled in Coffs four years ago, is dominated by librarian and law librarian management roles for corporate, government and academia. They include positions at the Parliamentary Library of Victoria, Griffith University, Macquarie University, and local government research roles, with a focus on law, statistics analysis and information management.
She is a member of the Australian Law Librarians Association and has written articles for several professional publications and journals including Australian Law Librarian. She has also mentored the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Legal Research for Law Librarians course, and is a Ted Glasson Australian Law Librarian Award winner.
A move into customer-facing law was a seamless next step for Rachel. She has held roles at Gadens Lawyers, Clayton Utz, Simply Conveyancing and Nambucca Valley Legal. She brings to Cornerstone her eagle eye for detail, vast legislation knowledge and her ability to translate complex legal documents into plain English for clients unfamiliar with or anxious about the conveyancing process.
Kelsey is a born and bred Coffs local with a passion for people and a strong foundational background in law and conveyancing.
Before joining the Cornerstone team, Kelsey worked for almost a decade at MBT Lawyers where she enjoyed a broad remit and honed her knowledge and skills in a number of areas of law under several solicitors. Her roles at MBT include mortgage administrative settlement agent, conveyancing assistant and clerk, with responsibilities including preparing mortgage and security documents, preparing settlements in PEXA, safe custody audits and preparing Estate Planning documents. During her time at the firm, she built essential strong relationships within law, real estate and finance.
Kelsey is delighted to bring her focus solely on conveyancing, in which she experiences a sense of fulfilment using her legal knowledge and people skills to directly support clients through the sometimes daunting and emotional process of selling or purchasing a home. In fact, Kelsey’s naturally reassuring demeanour has led some customers to comment that she would make a brilliant nurse!
Outside of work, Kelsey contributes extensively to the community through numerous charity and volunteer activities, including participating in six annual Cancer Council Relay for Life events, and work for Lifeline, the Red Cross and the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal.
Cornerstone Conveyancing is delighted to welcome Milly as one of its newest team members. Milly has more than 30 years’ experience in high-level executive administration, accounting and support roles. This includes almost a decade at the Reserve Bank Of Australia, and within local government, occupation health, safety and environment, as well as the securities and financial sectors.
With her portfolio of past responsibilities as varied as conducting media liaisons, company reporting, overseeing regulatory compliance and crediting and debiting government ledgers and accounts, Milly has an eagle-eye for detail and a passion for professional and warm customer service.
Milly uses her considerable organisational and problem-solving skills to bolster the rest of the Cornerstone team’s account work, as well as to create efficiencies and ensure the smooth running of the office.
As well as a love for her work, Milly also contributes to the community through volunteering. She has run local athletics groups and worked in mentoring programs for sports and for literacy.
